Terms of Service

Last updated · May 2026

1. Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and bpay Technologies Ltd ("bpay", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using any bpay service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please stop using the service immediately.

2. Who can use bpay

You may use bpay if you:

  • are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live),
  • are legally resident in Nigeria or another supported country,
  • provide accurate registration and verification information,
  • have not been previously banned from the service.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account secure — including your password, transaction PIN and any device used to access bpay. We strongly recommend enabling biometric lock.

Notify us immediately at security@bpay.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We are not liable for losses arising from your failure to protect your credentials.

4. Wallet & transactions

  • Funding: Your bpay wallet may be funded by bank transfer, card or other supported methods.
  • Limits: Transaction limits depend on your KYC status and are shown in-app.
  • Fees: Most core services are free. Service fees, where they apply, are disclosed before you confirm a payment.
  • Reversals: Failed payments are automatically reversed to your wallet, typically within minutes.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use bpay to:

  • conduct fraudulent, illegal or money-laundering activity,
  • fund prohibited goods or services,
  • circumvent security or rate limits,
  • impersonate another person or entity.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules and report serious violations to law-enforcement authorities.

6. Third-party services

bpay connects you to telcos, billers, banks and other providers. We are not responsible for the underlying service itself — only for delivering your instruction accurately and refunding failed payments.

7. Termination

You may close your bpay account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or close your account for breach of these Terms or for regulatory reasons.

8. Disclaimers & liability

bpay is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of bpay is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
